Comments: Coming from a family of firefighters we are saddened by the loss of the 6 firefighters in Massachusetts. It is especially sad when the tragedy could have been prevented. There is a new product called the Tracer Line that helps firefighters. This new product has not reached the market yet but we should be in production by February. There is a new device to save firefighters lives called the Firefighter Tracer Line. It is a self contained reel that goes on a firefighters belt and has one hundred feet of aircraft steel cable and allows a firefighter the freedom to search an area without fear of getting lost. A few of the features of the device are: * Doorjamb mechanism keeps door open allowing for ventilation and has a beacon light on it to let other firefighters know an area is already being searched, or in the case of an injured firefighter, other firefighters can find the beacon light and follow the line right to the injured firefighter. * One hundred feet of steel aircraft cable will not burn and is lightweight with approx. 500 lbs tess. * Multiple units can be attached together to increase the range. * Quick release on the unit allows the firefighter to eject the mechanism easily incase of entanglement. * The entire unit weighs 1.4 lbs. and is a little bigger than the average fist. * The cost of the unit is $189.00 Contact us: charlie@strikeforcegraphics.com Charlie Hoffman 1-888-869-1121 or 1-916-424-2755

Comments: I really enjoyed your site. It takes me back. I'm now a Instructor with St. John Ambulance and teach CPR; First Aid; Oxygen Administration; Defib; and a few courses related to the Ontario laws effecting Health and Safety. In some of my classes I sometimes mention in my class that when you watch emergency that was taped almost 30 years ago and that they were using two way communication like our cellular phones and Defib units, and all of the other things that paramedics still use today, is simply an amazing thought. I have young friends of mine who are just now taking the paramedic course at our local college. Our paramedics drive ambulances and are not firefighters but the principal still holds for them. Anyway I feel like it's my duty to tell them about it and introduce the reruns to them, Maybe I'm the keeper of the history. anyways nice chatting with you.

Comments: I thought I was one of few people in the world left who knew or cared anything about that old TV Show. That show was great. As a kid, I enjoyed the fire trucks and radio jargon. But now I make comparisons to shows that we see now and man! what a difference. the show was fairly wholesome and the acting waqs good and natural. Anyway did you guys know that Lorne Greene and a few other actors put together a show that tried to bring back the nostalgia of \ Emergency?? There was no real comparison, the show was called Code Red and was a very poor substitute for Gage and Desoto. I really enjoyed your Emergency page and i know you guys work hard as firefighters. I wish that I could get into that career for I have always wanted to serve in a military or law enforcement capacity ot in a simmilar public service, you know, saving lives and all. Some say that Volunteer fire fighting is not the same as a regularly appointed department but I know some voluteer firefighters and even some voluteer paramedics. Those guys get the same training as the city or county fire depts. You guys keep putting out fires and saving lives. I salute all of you and by the way Thanks for putting the Emergency page out there for us. It really brought back some memories. John Crawford

Most everything I try to watch these days are either stupid and moronic (i.e. Buffy The Vampire Slayer...puh-lease!!) or really boring (that's a very long list). Comments: Having been a fire-fighter for 24 years I have seen a lot of things that as you are aware of that are not pleasant. One of the things that I believe in are smoke detectors. I am also happy that there are other fire-fighters that feel the same way. Having read your intro I think that someone from your dept. should e-mail myself or call Canada area code 250-561-7664or 250-561-7710 I think that I might just be able to help your cause.
