I grew up on Ingraham St. in Hyattsville, and used to go to the old station on Gallatin St. where my older sisters were majorettes. The station was just past my school so I would go by on the way home to pet the station dog--a dalmation with two different color eyes! (This was in the '50's.) I'm an EMT-B, FFII, and have dispatched police, fire, EMS, since 1984. Calvert Control is the 911 PSAP for Calvert Co. I recently certified as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher through Medical Priority Dispatch Systems and will be certified through MD which as adopted EMD for 911 systems. HVFD homepage looks great and is very interesting. I hope our station can get one set up soon!
