Comments: A very good site. I discovered your site while trying to find a one with fire trucks, so I could show it to my 18-month old son, who's become quite curious over them. Just to give you some information about the city where we live. It's located on the extreme East Coast of Canada. As a matter of fact,it's the most easterly city in North America. As well, it's the oldest settlement in North America, dating back to around the early 1500's. The Province of Newfoundland itself is celebrating its 500th birthday this year. The greater St. John's area has a population of approximately 200,000, and I guess you can imagine the fire hazards associated with a city this old. In 1994, we suffered a serious fire near the downtown area, which destroyed the equivalent of a full city block, and left dozens of people homeless, as well as destroying several businesses and historic landmarks in the process. Oddly, it stared in the same part of town, where about one hundred years earlier, a fire started which devastated almost the entire city.
It's great to see your site. I think that it's very important for people to understand the danger you guys face every day, and the importance of prevention.
From what I've seen, it appears that the apparatus used by your fire department, and other U.S. departments I've encountered on the 'net', seems to be of a better quality than some of the equipment we have here, even though we have the latest models.
