At 1422 Hours, Rescue Squad 1 was alerted for one overturned and trapped on Sargent Rd / Torrey Pl in Co. 44’s area. PE441 arrived on scene confirming one trapped with a trauma code. Upon arrival the crew found one on its side with extensive intrusion on the passenger side (side on the ground) and went to work stabilizing utilizing the Paratech struts and cribbing to secure the vehicle. Once stabilized, the roof was cut and flapped to allow access to the patient. From arrival to removal time was 12 minutes. |

Just after 8 a.m., Engine 11 was dispatched to the 5600 blk of 16th Ave for an Apartment Fire. As the Engine approached the scene with 4 personnel, heavy smoke could be seen coming across Chillum Road. Engine 441 reported a working fire in apartment 104. |

At 2235 hours, E11 and RS1 were alerted to the apartment fire at 5403 Hamilton St. in Co. 9's first due. E11 arrived 4th due and secured a water supply and staged while Squad 1 assumed first due responsibilities per command. Upon entry to the second floor apartment, it was apparent there was only a room off. The squad with 6 went to work opening up, ventilating, and providing lights while E92 wet down the apartment. Both E11 and RS1 were clear of the scene at 2259 hours. |

At 1708 hours, Engine 11 and Rescue Squad 1 were alerted to the house fire at 1622 Drexel Street in Co 34's first due. The squad was the first special service on scene and per command assumed first due special service responsibilities performing the primary search with a reported child missing and then opening up for 34's line. The majority of the fire was in one room on the second floor but there was extension throughout the attic and knee walls. Engine 11 secured a secondary water source and was then assigned part of the RIT group with all three special services being utilized to open up and ventilate. |

At 2340 hours, A17 and Medic 92 were alerted for the unresponsive person at 3320 Toledo Place with PGPD already on scene. Upon arrival it was apparent that the patient had been shot in the chest and E11 was requested to the scene for assistance. EMS crews transported the patient to Medstar Trauma where the patient was Priority 4 upon arrival. Units went in service at 0101 hours.

At 1213 hours, RS1 dispatched on the first alarm to Montgomery County for a house fire in Hillendale's first due just off of New Hampshire Ave. The Squad responded from quarters with 4 and was assigned as an attack group by Command. Pulling a 2.5" attack line off of E921, the Squad crew pushed through the house and helped extinguish much of the fire up in the attic. The fire ended up at 2 alarms due to exposures and serious extension throughout the house. The squad was in service around 1400 hours. |

At 0230 hours, RS1 and C1A were alerted for the Personal Injury Accident with one trapped at the intersection of Adelphi Road and University Blvd in Co 12's first due. Squad 1 arrived first on scene with a driver trapped in a broadsided vehicle. The Squad with 6 went to work removing both doors and the B post and then assisted EMS crews packaging the patient. The Squad returned to service at 0300 hours. |

At 2211 hours, Public Safety Communications sounded the box for a reported basement fire at 5027 36th Place in Hyattsville's first due. Both the Rescue Squad and Engine (from College Park) responded. Rescue Squad 1 was the first unit on scene reporting a working fire in the basement.
The crew from the Rescue Squad performed a quick primary search, which proved negative, and then assited Bladensburg with advancing a hoseline into the basement to extinguish the fire. Engine 12's crew pulled a back-up line through the back door and assisted with checking for extension. Units from Hyattsville cleared in a little less than two hours. An electric space heater was deemed the cause of this fire. Chief 1A had the command and thanks to B/C 4 Folks for his assistance on the fireground.
HVFD wishes a speedy recovery to the Bladensburg FF injured at the incident. |

Around 2345 hours, Engine 12 was dispatched to 3200 Queens Chapel Rd to check on the welfare with County Police. While enroute, Communications advised they were receiving calls for a reported a car into the building. Engine 12 arrived on scene with a confirmed car into the building leaking gas with a partially ruptured home heating oil tank. |

Shortly after 4 p.m., units from Hyattsville, Riverdale, College Park and surrounding areas were dispatched for a reported bedroom fire in the 5900 block of 33rd Avenue. Engine 12, staffed with six volunteers, arrived on the scene within three minutes reporting fire showing from a two-story house.
Units quickly determined that all residents of the home had safely made it out and began an aggressive interior attack. |

At about 12:30 a.m., Engine 122 (College Park) and HVFD's Ambulance 19 were dispatched for a personal injury accident in the 2200 block of University Blvd. in Adelphi. The EMS unit arrived on the scene and requested a second BLS unit and Rescue Squad 1 to pop a door.

Just before 0900 hours, Rescue Squad 1 along with other units was dispatched for a 9I at New Hampshire and University Boulevard with 1 trapped. Rescue Squad 1 arrived on scene and went to work stabilizing, taking glass and the removing the side of the vehicle. |

At 0202 hours, Engine 11, Engine 12 and Squad 1 were dispatched to 7202 Wells Pkwy for a first due house fire. Squad 1 arrived first on scene with smoke showing and went to work doing a primary search and located a room off in the basement. Squad 1 held the fire in check until Engine 11 advanced the line and made a knock on the fire. Units from 1, including a crew from A19, were held to check for extension as well as overhaul and cleared at 0308 hours. |

At 0157 hours, the box was struck for the house fire in the 4000 Block of 34th Street bringing Engine 11 and the Squad. While responding, Communications advised of a possibly trapped baby within the structure. Engine 551 and Battalion Chief 4 went on scene with a 2 story balloon frame construction private dwelling and heavy fire showing.

At 0406 hours, Engine 11 and Squad 1 were alerted to respond to 9614 Cherry Hill Lane for the 2nd alarm apartment fire. HVFD responded with 12 volunteers to the scene. Engine 11 arrived first in staging followed shortly after by Squad 1. Engine 11's crew was sent to Division 4 to assist the crew from 41 with their line. Additionally, the crew checked for occupants and forced a number of doors to verify everyone had exited safely. Squad 1 was assigned the RIC responsibilities for the fireground. Units cleared the scene after approximately three hours.

Truck 1 arrived in quarters today from Hagerstown. Truck 1 checks in as a 100' TDA with a 515hp Detroit Series 60 engine carrying 323-feet of ground ladders and a crew of 8. Members have been working hard to get tools mounted and other tasks completed to get Truck 1 in service. We're looking forward to getting it back on the road soon. |

At approximately 1230 hours, Engine 11 responded with 6 personnel to 6401 Longfellow St. for a reported house fire. First arriving units arrived to find smoke showing from a two story duplex. The crew from Hyattsville advanced a line into the reported location and then into the exposure unit.
The disposition was determined to be a fire in the basement of the adjacent duplex unit. Due to the advancement of the fire in the basement and a natural gas leak in the basement, the building was evacuated to await the gas company. Engine 11 returned to service at approximately 1500 hours.

At 1348 hours, Engine 11 was alerted to the house fire at 4613 22nd Avenue in Co. 55's first due. Engine 11 responded with 4 and arrived first on scene with their own hydrant and smoke showing. The crew forced the door, vented all the windows necessary and knocked the fire before the second arriving piece arrived. The kitchen fire was knocked within 2 minutes of Engine 11's arrival. The crew cleared shortly after. |

Squad 1 was dispatched with Chief 1 and Chief 1A for the MVA with possible entrapment at New Hampshire Ave. and Lebanon St. in 34's area. Units from 34 advised they had a single occupant trapped.
