At 0025 hours, Rescue Squad 1 responded to one trapped at Queens Chapel and Ager Road. Upon arrival, the crew found a heavily damaged black Cadillac that had collided with a pole after a high-speed police pursuit. Police on the scene advised that the combative occupant may still be armed.

Squad 1 quickly went to work with stabilization and popping both driver side doors. Once the doors were removed, it was found that the dash was impinging on the patient’s leg, so the decision was made to take the roof and perform a dash lift. The victim had multiple compound fractures to his lower extremities. The patient was removed and handed over to awaiting EMS units for transport to MEDstar.
