At 0723 hours a house fire was put out in the first due at 5404 37th Ave. With Squad 1 on a wreck on Queens Chapel Rd, no units from 1 were dispatched because of staffing. However since many of the bunkroom members were present for early morning training, the Engine marked up on the assignment.

Engine 12 arrived to find smoke showing from a 2 story residential with an occupant trapped on the second banging on the window to get out. The lineman and officer stretched the line while the Engine driver through a ladder to the second floor to provide egress for the trapped occupant.

By the time the window was taken, the fire already consumed half the room and the occupant ended up jumping on the to the 1st floor roof. The Squad crew preformed searches and overhaul with Truck 9 while the Squad driver brought the occupant down the ladder on side Bravo. The fire was knocked quickly and searches were negative. Units from 1 and 9 remained for investigations and cleared at 0854 hours.
