Another year has passed for the Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department with an increased call volume from the reallocation of a apparatus from Co. 44 and Co. 55. Special thanks to all the officers and members as well as our daywork staff for responding to 5,486 runs in 2009.

2009 Stats

Engine: 1,689

Truck: 596

Rescue Squad: 15

Ambulance: 3,186

New Year's Eve brought 17 calls with the usual box alarms, stabbings and mayhem in the area. At midnight, the Truck Co. was transferred to Co. 30 for a building fire on Annapolis Rd until about 0200 hours.

The crew managed to ring in 2010 with 19 runs on New Years Day including the Truck Co. running its first call for "one stuck in a fence".
