At 0316 hours, Rescue Squad 1 was dispatched to Addison Road and 60th Avenue in Chapel Oaks for a reported vehicle accident with entrapment, along with units from Co. 38.

The Squad arrived at 0330 hours with a two-door car wrapped around a telephone pole on the passenger side with the front seat passenger heavily entrapped up to his chest between the seat, pole and dash.

Squad 1's crew of five stabilized the vehicle, removed both doors and the roof, then worked with the spreaders, rams and cutters to free the passenger. The approximate total extrication time was about 20 minutes.

The squad remained on scene for another 40 minutes, returning to service just about 0430.
