At 1449 hours, the box was struck for an apartment fire at 8000 Boteler Lane in Branchville’s first due. Engine 11 and Rescue Squad 1 responded with 12. While units from 1 were enroute, Chief 14 arrived on scene with nothing showing.

After further investigation, Chief 14 reported a unit off on the first floor and requested an additional Engine and Truck for the RIT assignment. On arrival, Engine 11 stretched a back-up line and the Squad was assigned the search group. The Squad crew performed a search of fire apartment, other units on the fire floor and the floor above. The Engine and Squad cleared at 1529 hours.
