Over the weekend, over a dozen members of the HVFD attended "Pump Fest", a part of our driver's training program to refresh current and teach future engine drivers engine company operations. The classroom and practical sessions covered pump theory as well as multiple lines, relay pumping, master streams, and tandem pumping. There was also an unexpected scenario on shutting down a broken hydrant, which was enjoyed by all. Special thanks to Gary and Bladensburg VFD for bringing over Engine 92 for us to use in place of our out of service pumper.
