- Construction of the "New" firehouse
Tower being placed on Station 2 (now Station 1) in 1959 at Belcrest and Queens Chapel Road. (22k)
- Smoke Ejector
"Smokey" was a 1933 Pirsch equipped with lights, salvage equipment and a smoke ejector at a cost of $8,200. The unit was the only one of its kind east of Minneapolis, Minnesota. (21k)

- The Mack and the Ambo
Hyattsville's 1974 Mack pumper (now operated by the Timberville, VA VFD) and our ambulance. The pumper was our first automatic transmission. In the mid-80's it was converted to a fully-enclosed cab unit before being sold to Timberville in the early 1990's after the arrival of our Pierce pumpers (24k)
- The Old Farragut Street Station
This early photograph shows members of the HVFD posing in front of the original firehouse on Farragut Street in what is now considered "Historic Hyattsville" off Rhode Island Avenue near the PG County Courthouse. (17k)

- Prince George's Plaza Blaze
Multiple-Alarm Fire at the Prince George's Plaza on December 29, 1965. One of the largest fires in department history. (24k)
