Burtonsville Extrication

A car travelling westbound on Route 198 just past Dino Road in Burtonsville crossed a grass median and collided head-on with a car in the eastbound lanes at about 6:30 a.m. Units from Burtonsville, Laurel and Laurel Rescue Squad were on the scene. The car that crossed the median overturned after the collision, trapping two people.

An adult male was transported by Maryland State Police helicoptor to Prince George's Trauma Center and a second victim was transported by land, both with critical injuries after being trapped for about 10 minutes. One other person had less serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Montgomery County Police were on the scene investigating the cause of the crash.
