| On a hot, sunny Sunday afternoon on July 4th weekend, a verbal dispute turned violent at the Adventure World Amusement Park on Central Avenue in Largo, Maryland - the largest theme park in the state. Just inside the main gate, four people were seriously stabbed. Two were medevaced by Maryland State Police Trooper-2 helicoptor to Suburban Hospital in Montgomery County, Maryland. Two others were taken by paramedic units by land to Prince George's General Trauma Center in Cheverly. |

None of the injuries turned out to be life threatening. One suspect was arrested immediately following the incident. The stabbings resulted from one of the attackers using a small blade knife to attack the four men -- all in their 20's -- after he apparantly made a remark about a girl with them, police said. The incident was unusual for the park.
