Unit Responses: A unit response is the unit responding on a single incident. The engine company, regardless of whether one or both pumpers respond, is considered a single unit response. On box alarms, house assignments, accidents and other incidents, more than one unit may respond.

The signficant increase in unit responses in 2001 can be attributed to a significant rise in Squad responses with a squad added to every box alarm and house assignment, as well as the ladder truck being out of service for most of the year.
