Our continued dedication to providing the highest quality EMS care is embodied in these units. Designated Ambulance 801 and Ambulance 801B, the units answer more than 3,300 calls for service each calendar year. Starting in 2012, as qualified staffing permits, the units can be upgraded to Paramedic Ambulances.
Ambulances 17 and 19 are 2003 American LaFrance Samaritan 169’s. They are equipped with:
- All LED lighting package
- V-Mux Multiplexed Electronics Package
- Whelen One-Touch Siren
- Ferno Model 35A Patient Transporter
- Ferno Composite Scoop Stretchers
- MedTronic Lifepak 300 Automated External Defibrillators
These ambulances, purchased for $197,000 from Delmarva American LaFrance, represent a significant equipment and financial commitment by the Hyattsville VFD to the community. These units were purchased entirely with volunteer funds – no tax money was used to buy these new units. These units have helped the HVFD continue a proud tradition of service to the community.
